ROLE MAIN PURPOSE:
Will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously maturing the organization’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) system and crisis response capabilities for Kidana. The role ensures that critical business functions, development projects, and operational assets remain resilient against disruptions. The role serves as the primary liaison with government bodies and regulators during crises and business disruptions.
Key Activities:
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise-wide Business Continuity Management (BCM) system.
- Conduct annual Business Impact Analyses (BIA) across all business units to identify critical functions, asset interdependencies, and recovery priorities specific to Kidana.
- Define, document, and enforce Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for all critical business processes.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically test departmental Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) , ensuring alignment with the operational continuity standards.
- Establish and operationalize the Crisis Management Team (CMT); define authority levels, escalation protocols, and emergency command structures.
- Develop and maintain a crisis communication framework.
- Lead and coordinate the Kidana’s response to major incidents including extreme weather events (sandstorms, floods), construction site accidents, cybersecurity breaches, supply chain disruptions, and regulatory investigations.
- Build and maintain formal liaisons with the General Directorate of Civil Defense (GDCD), National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), Saudi Red Crescent Authority, RERA, and local municipality emergency operations centers.
- Assess operational, project, and strategic risks that could threaten business continuity across Kidana; integrate BC-specific risk findings into the enterprise risk register.
- Develop, review, and update BC&CM policies, procedures, and standards.
- Design and execute annual BC&CM tabletop exercises, simulation drills, and full-scale emergency rehearsals involving senior leadership, department heads, and operational teams across all KSA sites.
- Conduct post-incident and post-exercise reviews; document lessons learned and update plans, procedures, and training materials; share findings with the GRC function for enterprise risk intelligence.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, develop, and mentor the BC&CM team.
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with C-suite executives, the Board’s Risk Committee, division heads, and the GRC function to embed business continuity into organizational governance and decision-making.
- Act as the single point of authority for all BC&CM matters across the Kidana; represent the function in senior leadership committees and crisis war-room sessions.
- Collaborate with Legal, IT, HR, Operations, Projects, and Finance to ensure full interdepartmental continuity alignment; participate in the GRC governance committee and support integrated risk management initiatives.
- Represent the organization before external audits and government inspections related to business continuity and crisis readiness.
Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional and Technical Certificates (Preferred): in Business Continuity or Risk Management such as CBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor, or equivalent. Certification or formal training in Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP). Certification or training in Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) and Crisis Management. Familiarity or certification in IT Service Continuity / IT Disaster Recovery frameworks. Training or certification in BCM testing, simulation exercises, and crisis drills.
Professional Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in business continuity, crisis management, or enterprise risk management, with at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
